Guilty Pleasure...

To me, armpit hair on guys just seems, well, natural. When it's there, I don't really notice it or think much of it, but if it's gone, I do. I wouldn't call armpit hair sexy, but a lack of it would be 'unsexy', if that makes sense. At the end of the day, I think it's all about MAINTENANCE!

BFI Flare 2015...

Over the weekend I saw two movies from this year's BFI Flare: London LGBT Film Festival and I was well impressed by both.

The first movies was I Am Michael featuring Jame Franco and Zachary Quinto telling an amazing yet sympathetic true story of Michael Glatze, an idealistic LGBT activist and co-founder of Young Gay America (YGA) magazine, who slowly becomes a pathetic shadow of himself because of fear and religion, and it's beautiful to see how the film doesn't give in to any temptation to vilify him, which would have been really easy.

The second movies was Tab Hunter Confidential. Directed by Jeffrey Schwarz, who also directed the fabulous I Am Divine back in 2013, Tab Hunter Confidential tells the magical story of how a teenage stable boy transforms into one of the Golden Age Hollywood biggest stars of the 1950s, all the while keeping a VERY big secret!

To me, it's such a fascinating documentary about closeted Hollywood history and a delightful tribute to a talented man who lived to tell his tale of survival. And the cherry on top was to see the real Tab Hunter appeared on stage after the film!

My 36th B'day Gift...

Tonight's episode of the Jonathan Ross Show was indisputably ruled by one guest and one guest only - the Queen of Pop herself, Madonna. She breezed her way through the interview with total class and humour, giving a flawless performance at the end of the show.

So why exactly was I all falling over Madge? Here are 7 good reasons:

1. Her straight-talking, no-nonsense manner, for starters.
2. Not to mention her eternally youthful good looks.
3. I was also loving her impressively accurate British accent.
4. She summed up what 'family' should mean pretty accurately.
5. Her performance of Ghosttown and Living For Love was damn good.
6. Because she makes me hark back to my teenage obsession with her.
7. Or because she's one of the few remaining living legends of our time.

By the way, today is my 36th birthday and this is a pretty damn good birthday present. Thank you Madonna!

GUESS WHAT?! TODAY IS MY F*CKING 36TH BIRTHDAY. HAPPY F*CKING BIRTHDAY TO ME B*TCHES XXX

B*tch I'm Madonna...

So, I've spent the past few days repeatedly listening to Rebel Heart, Madonna's thirteenth studio album. As someone who has been a fan of Madge since the Ray Of Light era, I think some of her best work ever is on Rebel Heart. So far stand out tracks (in no particular order) include:

Living For Love
Devil Pray
Ghosttown
Unapologetic Bitch
Hold Tight
Joan of Arc
HeartBreakCity
Holy Water
Wash All Over Me
Veni Vidi Vici
Messiah
Rebel Heart
Queen

Honestly, I really love the whole album. It's a stunning and beautifully put together piece of work. THE B*TCH IS BACK!

Revealing...

That age old question looks like it might finally have a definitive answer - and it's 5.16 inches.

According to an analysis of more than 15,000 penises around the world, the average size of an erection is 13.12 centimetres (5.16 inches) and 11.66cm (4.6 inches) around. When flaccid, the study found the penis of the average man is 9.16cm (3.6 inches) in length and has a girth of 9.31cm (3.7 inches).

The British research team said that this type of study could, "reassure the large majority of men that the size of their penis is in the normal range." After assembling data from studies where participants had their members measured by 'a professional' the team used the data to create a graph that doctors can use when counselling men with Small Penis Anxiety. The fear that they have a below average size penis can be debilitating for some men and may lead to body dysmorphic disorder and eventually depression and even suicide.

The study found that in reality only 2.28% of the male population have an abnormally small penis and the same percentage an unusually large one. The men who took part were aged 17 to 91 and had had their penises professionally measured in 20 previously published studies conducted in Europe, Asia, Africa and the US.

The team said their work, was the first of its kind to combine all the existing data on penis length and girth into one definitive graph. The team found NO evidence for penis size differences linked to race, though most of the study participants were of European and Middle Eastern descent, ruling out full comparison across all ethnicities. They also put to bed that old myth about big feet - your shoe size has NO relation to your penis length!

To me, it's less about the length but more about the girth (or should I say the thickness). I'd rather have a 5 inch thick penis rather than an 8 inch skinny one.

Oscars Vs Brit...

While I was away, two of my all time favourite idols performed on two separate award ceremonies, which both received rave reviews from around the world!

Ditching her outrageous outfits, Mother Monster took to the stage in a classy flowing white ball gown to perform a medley of songs from The Sound of Music, in honor of the beloved film's 50th anniversary at the 87th Academy Awards. I always knew Gaga could sing and had never doubted her talent, but this performance had truly showed how talented she really is! Of course, seeing Gaga embraced by Dame Julie Andrews was probably one of the best moments in Oscar telecast history.

On the other hand, the Queen of Pop had a cape malfunction and took a tumble off the stage while performing Living For Love at BRIT Awards 2015. Seriously, I don't give a f*ck on what everyone thinks, whether the fall was a stunt or not, the main thing is that Madonna is okay! In this situation every new popstar would stop and start crying, but Madonna was so professional to carry on the complete show. Great teaching for everyone - THE SHOW MUST GO ON!

Ram It Up...

Hello guys, I just got back to London from my holiday in Hong Kong (plus three days in Seoul, South Korea) and I had a wonderful time with all my family and friends. Since it's Chinese New Year and the year of Ram (羊), I'd like to wish you all 三羊開泰 喜氣羊羊!

I'm born in the year of Ram, and according to the horoscope, my life in 2015 will be a win-win situation; after all, this period will be controlled by my patron the Wooden Ram. I'll be lucky practically in everything and everywhere starting with minor household matters and finishing with my cherished dreams and wishes. If I've been begging God (and Grindr) to give me love, full wallet and health for my family, then I shouldn't even have the slightest doubt that I'll get it all - the Ram will first pour chocolate all over its own life and help other signs afterwards.

My reaction: Woohoo! Ram on!

Just wanna let you guys know I'll be traveling back to Hong Kong for Chinese New Year from tomorrow till the end of February so there won't be many updates for the rest of the month. See you after my holiday!

A Madgestic Performance...

Showing the kids how it's done, Madonna graced the Grammy stage in true Madgesty form performing her new tune Living For Love. I'd expect no less from the Queen herself.

The B*tch Is Back...

Back in 1994, Madonna brought to the world of sexy bullfighting into the living rooms of fans across the world, as the still-sizzling Take A Bow video. 21 years later, Madonna becomes the matador herself, who battles and kills all her haters with devil's horns hiding behind masks in Living for Love video. Great one Madge!

Guilty Pleasure...

Aussie hunks, Sam and Ben, aka the Acai Brothers, demonstrate the naked benefits of bringing açaí berry into your diet. The perks of 'living in the raw' are clear to see... just check out their cheeky promo, which they are out straddling bikes and horses in the raw.

So, where'd you have your açaí berry? Hmm... how about rolling around naked in bed with them both?

Heros Wanted...

Went and saw Big Hero 6 today, the new Disney action-packed comedy-adventure about the special bond that develops between Baymax, the very adorable inflatable robot designed for caregiving, and 14-year-old Hiro Hamada, who lives in the city of San Fransokyo.
As a whole, it's an absolute fantastic movie (even though it looks more like a cross between Studio Ghibli and Pixar) with beautiful CGI and a story that will keep a smile on your face for a while =]

BP 2015...

Shadow of the Light
2014
Oil on canvas

So this is my entry for this year's BP Portrait Award, which I've failed to be shortlisted for the past two years. As much as I like this portrait, I just don't think I'll win any prize, but who knows? The judge might appreciate what I've done! Fingers crossed =]

Meet My Precious...

(Drum Roll) Welcome to the first post dedicated to my beautiful blog fans! Oh look, who have we got here? It's Luis and he's giving TMOP a lipstick kiss at a bus stop (how romantic) to show his love for the blog!

PR8: First, can you tell us a little bit about yourself?
Luis: Hi, my name is Luis and I'm From Mexico. I'm 25, currently single (wink wink) and I've been in London for 4 years now and I love it!

How did you discover The Ministry of Pleasure?
I was browsing through some blogs I came across TMOP and I found it very interesting, the way it mixes different aspects of gay life and other topics of interest, although the Guilty Pleasure is my favourite!

How long have you been a reader of TMOP?
I think I've been reading the blog for 5 years now, before moving to London, I try to stay up-to-date with every post.

What keeps you coming back to TMOP?
I think it's the mix of relevant topics such as pop culture or politics and the personal side of the blog, all the traveling, theatre and all the sexy naughty things =P

Anything you would like to see/feature on TMOP in the future?
I think rather than something in specific I'd like to see new updates more often.

Boxers, briefs or go commando?
Boxers to sleep. Commando to gym. Briefs for everything else. I must say I love underwears.

Ask me a question and I'll try to answer it =]
Which super power would you choose if could get one?
Hmm, I want SO many! But if I have to choose one, it's gonna be the ability to shape-shift into anything like Mistique in X-Men.

And last but not least. Gaga, yay or nay?
I went to her last show in London and it was great! To be honest, her last album isn't the best but definitely a YAY!

Muahhh! Thanks you Luis for doing this short and sweet interview with me, and for those who wanna get to know Luis a little more, follow him on Instagram @ludwik77 and Twitter @LudwikDlrvdm.

And if you wanna be featured on the next Meet My Precious, simply email me and we can take it from there!

Casting Call...

I'm not sure if this will work but I'm gonna give it a go. I'm planning to start a new recurrent post (just like Guilty Pleasure, Be Inspired, and Awww) and call it Meet My Precious.

The idea is simple. I wanna feature some of my readers fans (yes, I'm talking about YOU) on here in order to show my respect for you and to share your love of my blog with the rest of the world.

I dunno how many of you are brave enough to put yourself forward, but if you do, PLEASE drop me an email and we can go from there! Looking forward to hear from you. Cheers =]

P.S. I already have my first precious fan lined up for this weekend and he's from London, well... kind of.

The Greatest Living Mind...

Just saw The Theory of Everything and I can honestly say it's one of the best films I've seen, highly recommend it! And guess what? I didn't realise until now that Stephen Hawking had three children, had an affair with his nurse and divorced from his wife.

Anyway, do I think Eddie Redmayne deserves an Oscar of Best Actor? Hmm... ABSOLUTELY!
