Talk Me Down (3/3)...

Here we are. The finale of the Blue Neightbourhood Trilogy, which had put a lot of heavy emotions into my mind. Some parts made me smile, some made me laugh, and others made me almost cry.

Being gay in modern society is not easy, unless you are really lucky. This video represents the truest of struggles for gays. It reaches deep into my heart. Thank you Troye x

Wild (1/3)...

Has any of you guys heard of Troye Sivan? If not, here's a TREAT for you all for the start of 2017! I 'discovered' Troye when one of his songs (I believe it's Youth) was playing in the background of a shop and I was immediately struck by how beautifully simplistic his sound is. Of course I went straight to iTunes and bought his whole debut album Blue Neighbourhood and listened to it for hours.

Age 21, Troye Sivan is a singer, songwriter, actor and vlogger from Australia, but born in South Africa. He's rapidly turning into the next big thing with the release of the so called Blue Neighbourhood Trilogy, which touches upon growing up, coming out, family relations, disapproving and aggressive parents, denial, true love and suicide. At the same time, it also tells a story that has been in our collective culture for far too long, and frankly Troye nailed it, beautifully. What an elegiac expression of the modern homophobic society.

Seriously, if you have 12 minutes of your precious time spare, it's definitely worth it!

Happy 2017...

HAPPY NEW YEAR! Has everyone recovered from the booze and parties? I certainly did! This year I went down to Bridport, Dorset, to celebrate New Year's Eve with a friend in a fancy dress street party! As you can see, I was a BIG banana and I was sure I had poked a few gladiators and superheros in the town square =P

Remember Me?

Hellooooo, anyone still here reading this? It's the last day of 2016 and this is how I felt this morning LOL!

Anyway, I'm sorry that I've been quiet for so long. Sometimes the busyness of life causes us to have to re-evaluate what is essential in our list of daily tasks and sadly the blogging has been very near to the bottom of the list. Having said that, whenever friends ask me, "How is your blog going?" I always feel a cringe in my heart, a sense of guilt, that I shouldn't give it up and start writing again. So, here I AM. My New Year resolution =]

Wish you all a lot of fun on the last day of 2016. Be safe, go out tonight enjoy the fireworks and let's embrace 2017!

We Stand With Orlando...

"In the face of such hates,
we refuse to be afraid.
Together WE are strong.
To our brothers and sisters in Orlando,
WE stand with YOU."

Just got home from the Soho vigil in London. Honestly, there's no words to describe how sad I was when I saw the news yesterday. I just wanna stand with my community in solidarity, in defiance, and in memory of those murdered innocently for being who they are.

Gay Sauna (Checked)...

YESSS! I finally visited Pleasuredrome, a gay sauna in London, and the whole experience was not as bad as I thought, in fact, I was pleasantly surprised at the outcome!

Split into two levels, the venue itself was big, modern, extremely clean and pretty cool (being under the Waterloo rail tracks). Lockers area was very well organized, Jacuzzi was relaxing and enjoyable, steam rooms were small but very 'cosy', and there were plenty of private rooms on the first floor. There's also a bar, a 'video' room and a darkroom.

So what had I done? Well, of course I had some fun not only with the friend I went with, who I recently met online, but also with another guy, who was at one point sitting next to me in one of the steam rooms. I mean, the first was intentional, but the second was a total surprise, and he's pretty HOT (and polite) too!

Now when I think back, gay sauna was not as nerve-wracking as I thought. And I was glad that I went with someone who knew what to do, who had my back when I got nervous, and would leave when I wanna leave. To be honest, I didn't get nervous by the end of it and eventually had a GREAT time, but I really appreciated having a friend who I could follow around and talk to while I built up my courage.

Will I go back again? Hmm, yes, but not on my own just yet =]

Congrat Ukraine...

So, there goes another year of Eurovision Song Contest and the winner went to Jamala from Ukraine. The country scored 534 points with its song 1944, about the deportation of Crimean Tatars under Josef Stalin.

It's not my favourite song of the evening but I could understand the political reason behind it. I guess it's kinda good for the Ukrainians gave the Russians (who came third with 491 points) a black eye in front of the whole Europe.

So, which is my most favourite song of the evening? Well, it has to be Made Of Stars by Hovi Star from Israel. I think it's a fantastic song with impressive vocal. Sadly, it only came 14th with a total score of 135. Others that I liked were J'ai Cherché by Amir from France (6th place with 257 points) and Color Of Your Life by Michał Szpak from Poland (8th place with 229 points).

Oh, and who could ever forget the BEST part of the show, Love Love Peace Peace, a BRILLIANT parody song sang by the gorgeous hosts, Måns Zelmerlöw and Petra Mede! DOUZE POINTS!!!

P.S. And can I just rant for a second about why is Australia still in this year's Eurovision Song Contest?!

Yet Another Profile...

"25 years old, pansexual, extremely nerd, involved in the kink scene, in an open relationship with a woman, vers, working in central. Looking for mates, play partners, but not NSA/one nighters. Drug free zone and only play safe. Oh, please have face pic or send one. Thanks 4 reading."

To be honest, I'm a bit lost with his profile. I mean, is it me or some of the descriptions sound a bit contradicting? Oh well, he's kinda cute and that's all that matter I guess... Plus I learned a new word =]

1. not limited in sexual choice with regard to biological sex, gender, or gender identity.

United We Stand...

Just got home from the cinema and there's only ONE word to describe my hubby's (Chris Evans) latest Marvel blockbuster Captain America: Civil War - AWESOMMEEE!

Honestly, it's insanely, incredibly fantastic from beginning to end, and what an amazing movie from Marvel once again! Team Cap all the way!

Oh, could someone PLEASE tell me where does this come from because it'd be nice to see the full video. Thank you!

Open Season...

"We used to have it all planed,
We thought we knew what it all looked like,
We were looking out on the greatest view.
We were raised to take a stand,
We were raised to keep an open mind,
We believed we'd just sail out through.

Down a hundred miles an hour,
Sitting in my palace without any power,
Alone in the dark, we're alone in the dark.
Thought we could always try a bit harder,
But if the dice don't wanna roll in your favour,
It falls apart, the fantasy falls apart..."

Ever since I heard the song Open Season by Josef Salvat, the gorgeous 27-year-old Australian-born, London-residing singer/songwriter, on the radio, I absolutely fell in love with it. The lyrics is beautiful, so true to life as it is. And the music video is one of the most creative I've seen in a very long time!

Check out his new album called Night Swim! I bought it and every song on the album is a really good!

Two Underdogs, One Dream...

Just came home from watching Eddie the Eagle at the cinema and what a great British feel good film! Both Taron Egerton and Hugh Jackman were absolutely spot on in their roles.

If you don't know what it's about, it's based upon the story of British ski jumper Michael Edwards (aka Eddie the Eagle) and follows how he got into the sport and his 'success' at the Winter Olympics in Calgary 1988.

It's so sweet and funny yet uplifting and motivating, I think I'm gonna run to work tomorrow =P

Guilty Pleasure...

Kevin Spacey is as happy as a sandboy. Just look at that smile! I'd be too if I was front row and centre for this shirt-ripping, hand-licking, crotch-grabbing, laptop-thrusting moments show.

The 56-year-old appeared as one of the judges on the recent episode of a popular Italian talent show titled Amici di Maria De Filippi. Set to Britney’s Get Naked (I Got A Plan) from her 2007 album Blackout, a crew of hunky Italian men, led by the gorgeous ballet dancer Gabrielle Esposito, performed a sexy routine in their individual cubicles. Honestly, why can't Britain's Got Talent have something like this instead of the usual sh*t?!

Okay, Mr. Kevin Spacey, who so determined to stay closeted, traveling ALL THE WAY to Italy and smiling when these hotties stripped? Yes, you really proved to me your 100% straight!

Hola! I got back from Gran Canaria on Sunday night and I had a FAB time with a good suntan! The sun, the sea, the gay sand dunes/beach at Maspalomas, the cheap tasty seafood, the beautiful architecture of Agüimes and Las Palmas, and the amazing Airbnb apartment at Tasarte that my friend and I stayed in were all top notch! Will I go back again? YES! Will I recommend you to visit Gran Canaria? YES! YES!

Yet Another Profile...

"Hello all, I'm here looking at the pics but also up for dates with nice guys. I don't have a 6-pack and can't be arsed to get one, I'm not bad looking so will try and rely on that for as long as I can. Be fun and have a sense of humour! Thank you bye bye x"

Hmm, I'd definitely choose him over a 6-pack in ANY day! Would you?

Letters With Pride...

Wow! Sweden is set to become the first country to issue rainbow-flag emblazoned stamps next month, celebrating LGBT Pride.

PostNord, the country’s national postal service, will start issuing the stamps on May 4, aiming to "emphasise the equal value of all people and the strength represented by people's unique qualities and difference".

Per Ljungberg, PostNord Sweden's Head of Communications, said, "To the best of our knowledge, this is the first time the Pride Flag has been reproduced on a stamp, which makes it particularly gratifying that people will now be able to send affectionate greetings with the Pride Flag stamp to all corners of the world."

The idea for the stamp came from artist Lisa Rydell, and was picked from hundreds of suggestions PostNord receives every year. Rydell was also commissioned to design the final stamp, which features six edge-to-edge stripes in red, orange, yellow, green, blue and violet.

The original Pride Flag was created in 1978 during San Francisco Pride by activist and artist Gilbert Baker. Rather than the current 6 stripes, it had 8, with pink and turquoise representing sexuality and magic/art. These days, the flag's 6 stripes represent (in order) life, healing, sunlight, nature, art and spirituality.
