Heaven Sent...

Gabriel is set in Purgatory, a dark, smoky-looking realm for 'unpurified' souls stuck between heaven and hell, where they await for 'purification' before entering the joy of heaven. Fighting over Purgatory and its ruin of a city are two groups of angels - the Arc Angels and the Fallen. Gabriel (Andy Whitfield), the archangel of the title, is sent to Purgatory to reclaim the realm for heaven. But he faces two challenges. First, defeating the forces of evil, led by the powerful Sammael (Dwaine Stevenson). And second, inhabiting a human body, with all its frailties and emotions.

A deep emotional character journey, Gabriel is full of revelations that will keep you guessing right up to the very end, and for many will be a point of discussion long afterwards.

Talking about angel, the hunky model-turned-actor Andy Whitfield was born in the UK, grew up in Wales and studied at Sheffield University, Andy then spent 5 years working in the construction industry in London (now that explains his buff physique). 9 years ago, he moved to Australia and work around his acting commitments as a freelance photographer, a fashion model, and an engineering 'abseiler' checking out buildings such as the Sydney Opera House for problems.

Gabriel is due to be released in cinemas across the country on November 15 and I think I will give this archangel a go.
