What Does VD Mean...

Still being single in the gay ghetto really doesn't help to answer this question. Having said that, it's hard to be indifferent to this 'anniver- sary' which seems to come around with surprising speed. No sooner have social arrangements for Christmas and the New Year been nego- tiated, than the fourteenth of February is upon me, and you once more.
Perhaps you are able to scoff at the site of a pair of teddy bears kissing each other, and the other items covered with red hearts which fill the windows of the shops. Or do you look longingly at the sexy nighties and underwear which are also on display?

So many of these items for sale are a far cry from the single red rose heralding the simple message 'I Love You' or even the unsigned card, which may drop through your letterbox, but leaves you guessing who the secret admirer is.

Touched By Love by Eran James

Though some people (including myself) thinks the whole Valentine's Day 'thing' is more commercial than sincere. However, at the end of the day we all like to be loved, and after all, today is about love and sometimes it is great for this to be shown in a symbolic way. It's the time of the year for a little romance in the air, and who can quarrel with that? Happy Valentine's Day everyone!

It's a sham holiday that guilts straight boys into buying something for his girlfriend/wife that says "I love you." Love should be shown every day, all year long--not one day a year. Statistics have also shown that the guys most likely to go all elaborate on this day have something to hide, that the gift is more of an unknown apology.

As for gay guys, I dunno. My first and only time I was in an LTR for Valentine's Day was last year. We just enjoyed the fact we were able to see each other. No gifts, just each other's company.
