Cheerio 2010...

So, it's New Year's Eve AGAIN and it's time for those goals. I started writing down few things that came to my mind and now I have a list that Madonna would be proud of =P

I wouldn't say I'm the happiest person (yet) but I'm definitely happier since I moved to London, and I think it's all about being my gay self in a comfortable environment. So thanks to everyone who I came across in 2010!

I went to more shows this year than I've ever been to in my life! One play, two ballets, two operas, three musicals, and EIGHT concerts - Jay Brannan, Gaga, Bon Jovi, Scissor Sisters, Hurts, Jay Brannan again, Gaga again and Andy Lau! Tell me, am I turning into a culture vulture or a gig freak?

One of my biggest achievements of 2010 has to be the start of my graphic design course and it's something I've always dreamt of doing but didn't do. However after three years of delay, I'm working my way to become a graphic designer =] Any potential project from anyone?

It's no secret that I've been unlucky in love. But who cares? Only fools give up. I've had many amazing and horrible experiences with men, but I don't regret one of them. I have, overall, given each date I've been in a fair shot. When it hasn't worked out, I still learned from them. In many cases, I still enjoyed them. But I'm certainly not gonna take the failures I've had as a tell-tale sign that I should give up on the "Happily Ever After" that I would love to one day have.

And last but not least, TMOP has been running in its fourth year, over 1,000 posts have been made and over 2,000,000 people from around the world have stopped by to share my thoughts and leave comments. To some this might mean nothing but to me it meant the world! I must admit that I've slipped a little in recent months when it comes to blogging, but I promise I'll try to stay on top of it in 2011!

Big Achievement In...

It's been almost a week in HK and I'm starting to live like a Hongkie (people from HK) once again. I mean, the weather gets warmer, the pace of living gets faster, the food tastes much better (and cheaper) and everyone around me suddenly gets shorter =P

So what have I done so far? Well, mainly shopping, eating and family gathering, the usual stuff really. However, something exceptional happened last night which I so want to share it with you guys. Guess what? I visited a gay sauna for the first time in my life!

Long story short, I was chatting with a Hong Kong-based South Afrian on Gaydar during the day, and since he couldn't accomondate, he suggested to meet at a sauna. To my surprise, I kindly agreed, partly because it's one thing that I'm always curious about, and partly he's too hot to ignore. Anyway, the whole experience was quite daunting but he really put me at ease. And the sex? It's exciting and fun! Will I visit again? Let's just say now I know what it's like so it won't freak me out as much as before =P

Let' It Snow...

OMG! I was SO glad that I managed to fly back to Hong Kong on Friday instead of Saturday or I would still be stranded in London Heathrow! Seriously, from what I saw in the news over the past few days, I just couldn't imagine how bad the snow was, it must be CHAOS in England!

I hope people will soon make their way to their destinations safely. Until then, let's have him to keep some of the unfortunates warm =P

I'm Ready...

Guilty Pleasure...

Gosh! I've been so busy lately with my life that I don't even have time to update this blog! Seriously, I do feel very guilty about it, especially when I'm gonna be away in Hong Kong from Friday for two weeks and I still have quite a number of stuffs I wanna blog about! Awww, isn't Andy gorgeous or what?!

So You Think You Can...

I used to be a fan of reality TV, wouldn't miss Survivor, Big Brother, and The Amazing Race, but I got tired of them all, don't watch many of them now except Come Dine With Me, which is a very clever and witty show with some b*tching involved =P

Now, wouldn't it be exciting to have a porn version of reality TV? Well, let me introduce you to SO YOU THINK YOU CAN F*CK! - a ground-breaking reality game show that involved 12 contestants compete for the title of America's Favourite Pornstar! Woohoo!

Hmm, whether it's 'reality' or not isn't the actual point. The point is that the idea behind the whole thing is quite clever and witty (just like CDWM) and you can't deny that they've recruited some really hot 'contestants' like Tyler Andrews in this episode.

And on top of all that, the show also has a revolutionary 3D version! Unfortunately, my 3D glasses at home doesn't seem to work =[

A Pretty Gay Boy...

What a weekend! Had a Christmas do with people at work on Friday night. Then saw Priscilla the musical (FABBBULOUS!) with a group of friends on Saturday night and ended up in G-A-Y till 5:00am on Sunday morning! Totally exhausted!

Anyway, when we were in the club, I had an interesting conversation with one of my girl-friends, which I'd like to share with you all.

"Hey Will, do you think gays are superficial?" she asked out of the blue.
"Errr, some are." I replied.
"Hmm, I think most of them are, especially the pretty ones."
"Why do you say so?" I asked.
"Just now when I was making my way through the crowd, I accidentally landed my hands at the back of this gay boy's waist. He turned around and turned out to be a pretty face, so I politely complimented him, "Wow, you are cute!" and guess what he told me."
"Thank you?"
"No. He said, "I know!" and turned around and carried on dancing!"

At that moment, I couln't stop laughing, but after a while, I started to think maybe she's right, maybe we all are superficial in one way or another, especially pretty gay boys (sorry if you are gay and pretty).

Having said that, it's human nature to love beautiful things, right? I guess as long as someone is not totally obsessed with himself, being superficial is not such a big deal. Agree?

Weekly Poll...

Another week of delay on my Weekly Poll simply because it took so long to decide if you guys wanna sit on Mr. Hard No.1 or Mr. Hard No. 2 but finally the votes are counted and the results are in, and the winner goes to Mr. Hard No.2!

Anyway, it's THREE weeks from Christmas. Have you been naughty or nice this year? Are you expecting a present under your Christmas tree from Santa? If yes, who do you want under your Christmas tree?

Guilty Pleasure...

Since everyone says the plots of porn are lame, I think this one is gonna change your way of thinking about them. It's actually quite facinating (in a weird kind of way) to see two Spidermen making out with each other. I mean, the zipper, which one of them unzipped to reveal his cock, I wonder if the real Spidey has that for emergency =P

Oh, and who says guys with glasses are geeks and can't be sexy? I wear glasses and so does he! Enjoy!

WAD 2010...

Death? Sex? Condom? Gay? Red ribbon? Awareness? Antiretrovirals? Africa? Hope? Another excuse to party? To me, World AIDS Day (WAD) is no doubt a very significant day to raise awareness and call for action to fight HIV/AIDS, and the prejudice that are associated with them, not just for the gays but for EVERYONE who (basically) are having sex.

Having said that, I also think one day seems insignificant compared to the growing threat we are still facing by this dangerous issue. I mean, the number of people living with HIV in the UK has trebled in the last 10 years, more than 90,000 people are living with HIV in the UK, over a quarter of people with HIV in the UK are undiagnosed, and some men still have the cheek to ask for bareback sex on Gaydar! WTF?!

Seriously, AIDS awareness needs months (if not years) to reflect and get people into the mind set that this is not going away, it's still incurable and people are still dying from this terrible disease. So, for f*ck's sake, USE A CONDOM and don't take risks in love/lust! Oh, and don't forget to get tested and know your status! Hmm, speaking of which, I should have mine soon. Happy WAD =]

Tuesday, November 30, 2010

If YES are your answers to the above questions, then you may just have the power to make our gay community a safer place from AIDS!

Basically, one of my dear friends is undertaking a university research project on the current attitudes and approaches men have to anal sex in order to dispel the myths around the increasing rise in HIV and AIDS cases, particularly in the UK.

So, on behalf of him, I'd really be appreciated if you guys could spare 5-10 minutes on this short, confidential, online questionnaire. I mean, 10 minutes is not a lot to ask for, right? Plus it's all for a good cause!

For more information on the research, please visit Thanks a million =]

A Winter Day In...

In fact, it all started from last night when me and my friend went to skate at the beautiful Somerset House. And it's kinda romantic too =P

Anyway, I fell twice on the ice (so did he) but we had lots of fun even though neither of us have been skated for donkey's years! And by the end of it, we were actually sweating instead of shivering (from the skating of course)! By the way, London is getting ready for Xmas!

I mean, they simply make me squeal and squee and melt my hearts, especially on this cold winter night!

From one of my all time favourite bloggers, Joshua shares a great and trueful post on TEN things we can all DITCH to make a better gay life in London (or anywhere in the world). They all have a valid point and it's definitely something that we need to remind ourselves of!

Guilty Pleasure...

Normally I would spend time and do research on my Guilty Pleasures, but this time is gonna be an exception (partly due to laziness).

I just adopted these two fellas when I was random 'googling' and I don't even know who they are besides there are both smiley, sexy and easy on the eyes! Now here comes the second Mr. Mysterious!

And by chance if anyone knows who the name of these two hotties, I'd be a very happy man. Thanks =]

Since the whole world went gaga over the news, how could I possibly be missing out? A BIG BIG CONGRATULATIONS to William (you see we share the same name too =P) and Kate on their engagement!

Although I'm not a big fan of the Royals but I do have a soft spot for William. He seems a decent bloke and not the normal Royal toff. Must have got most of his genes from Diana. Plus this would be my first Royal wedding in the UK so I'm looking forward to be invited!

Forget Take That, Westlife is back in the game with Safe, a beautiful heart touching single from their upcoming album Gravity (released on 22 November).

And for some strange reason, I really love the music video although it's kinda sad to see Mark trapped in a car that's on FIRE! My god, I should be the one saving him instead of Kian! I'll keep you safe =P

Weekly Poll...

Yes I know it's a bit naughty for me to put up a second round of polling on Who Would You Most Like To Sit On, but hey, it's one of the most popular polls on TMOP ever, so cast your vote(s) and you never know there may more coming in the future!

Thanks Dom...

Did anyone go and see Shayne Ward at G-A-Y last night? Because I did and he's so ever so ripped and hot (it's a hot in the club too)! You see, I supposed to take some photos for you guys but when I pulled out my camera, I realised I forgot my memory card in my computer! Arghhh! Oh well, I still had a great night with my friend, danced real hard, and slept like a pig =]

No Worries...

No Worries by Simon Webbe

Following up on my previous post on the recent bullying and suicides of gay youth across America, which supposedly the most liberal and open-minded country in the world, it makes me wonder what's it really like to be a gay American teen? And will it really get better?

First of all, I think I can kinda relate myself to some of these teens. I mean, culturally, being gay and Chinese is quite a contradiction. Being gay means wild, bold, sexual, and modern, while being Chinese means tame, obedient, asexual, and traditional. That's why I went in to hiding/pretending, I was afraid to come out in school, in university, in my 20s because, well, it's scary to be 'different', to be made fun of, to be alone. Did I make the right choice? Yes and no. I mean, I didn't get bullied or picked-on, but at the same time, I wasn't my true self either. Yes, I sacrificed my happiness for a life of security. Was it really worth the price I paid? Back then, yes, but now? Hell no!

So, will it get better? Of course I really hope It Gets Better, but I think there need to be more mainstream examples of how adults are succeeding (or struggling) as gay adults. Though celebrities do have a public platform, it may not be the most realistic platform. More realistic role models would lead to more realistic expectations. So though I applaud their efforts, I think we need more than celebrities to address this issue. Having said that, it's good that people are aware of the problem and are doing their part to help!
