Who Do You Fancy...

Every single night out I have with my housemates they always asks me the same old question, "Tell me. Who do you fancy?" and I always respond with "No one!" even though the place is jam-packed with gorgeous men, partly because I don't want them to touch someone's ass and blame it on me, and partly because I wanna find a guy at my own pace, which is always seem too slow for them.

Don't get me wrong, their intention is good. They just want me to have a boyfriend and be 'happier'. Hold on, am I not happy enough? Hmm, maybe. Sometimes I think I'd be happier if I have a boyfriend, but other times I think I'm better off single and I don't need a guy to make me happy. Do any of you feel the same?

Don't Worry. Be Happy. What a beautiful philosophy in charmingly simple words. But is it realistic? Of course not! Happiness isn't THAT simple. To me, happiness means a genuine inner peace and balance, it means that my world makes sense. And yet, happiness is deceptively difficult to achieve AND maintain, even for someone with a boyfriend (though it might make it easier).

So how can I be truly happy? To be honest, I dunno but I'm working on it. I guess when I feel that my life has purpose, and that the things I do or the person I love are genuinely in the 'service' of that purpose, I'm on the road to happiness. Until then, let's just take things one step at a time especially when it comes to boyfriend =]

Happiness has nothing to do with being single or with a boyfriend/partner. I have been with my husband for 20 years and I love him deeply but am I happy? Nope. Does it have anything to do with him? Nope. Circumstances are what make you happy or sad and sometimes they suck (like now) and sometimes they are great. A boyfriend/partner/husband just allows you to have someone to vent at, at the end of the day and I am sure your housemates can provide that! You sure seem very happy in any of your pics. Happy belated birthday by the way!
