STI Hotspots...

The hotspots for catching STIs in England have been released by Health Protection Agency and I can't believe Haringey, the area I'm living, is actually one of them! But thank God (whether He'll appreciate it or not) Unfortunately, the report also reveals that as a social group, gay men have one of the LOWEST levels of sexual health, which is something we should shouldn't be proud of. Read more...

Maybe it's time for us to remind our straight counterparts ourselves on how to put a rubbers on, which is something we should know by NOW!

Someday...

I'm a dreamer. Maybe a little naive but definitely a happy one! Basic- ally I'm looking for an inspiration, honesty, positive energy and good time. I'm still not really sure what does love mean but I'd be excited to find it out one day, someday soon =]

Wonderful Life...

HURTS duo Theo Hutchcraft and Adam Anderson from Manchester, UK travelled to Italy together before forming, and developed a disco-lento (slow disco) sound and European aesthetic both inspired by their trip.

The new single Wonderful Life inhabits the moody and cinematic (with a dash of Gaga) approach their music takes, capturing the story of a girl who saves a man from suicide with that emphatic line "Don't let go, never give up it's such a wonderful life."

If this single is anything to go by, HURTS are going to get a lot of attention this year (at least they got mine) and I for one look forward to hearing their debut album
Happiness, which will be released on September 6th.

Guilty Pleasure...

What better way to pass the time in prison than a little jerk off? That's what Scott Campbell was thinking. The prison guard, Jake Steel, just 'happens' to be doing rounds and stumbles upon Scott. Rather than let Scott have all the fun, Jake needs to teach this prisoner a lesson.

This three and a half minute long clip (which should really be called an extended movie trailer) will surely get your cock throbbing in no time. Having said that, don't do stupid thing to get yourself into the prison!

RIP...

In response to the recent bus hijacking event in Manila, Philippines, I would like to remove my latest Guilty Pleasure post and change my banner to B&W in order to pay respect to those who suffered from this horrific incident.

Being a Hong Kong citizen, I just could not stop feeling sad (for those who were killed INNOCENTLY) yet angry (with the selfish, cold-blooded gunman and the inefficiency of the Philippine Government and their so-called SWAT Team) after watching the bloodshed being unfolded before my eyes.

Honestly, it is the very last thing you want to happen on your holiday and I feel deeply sorry for the victims and their loved ones. May those who lost their lives rest in peace, and may those who were injured heal quickly. My condolences to the family.

Remember. This is no accident. It is a MURDER.

Miles Away...

Does a long distance relationship work? A gay friend of mine asks me this question as he and his boyfriend has been apart on and off for the past two years (due to work commitment), and their relationship is getting a bit iffy.

Honestly, such situation has never occurred to me. And if it does, I seriously doubt I can commit to it especially if I know it's on-going and there's not an end in sight. I understand at the end of the day love is love, and some couples may say distance is no object if both partners are committed to each other.

Of course, you need to be strong to make things happen, but without sharing physical contact and/or intimacy with the one you love? Hmm, call me weak, I'm not sure I'm ready for that. Hope I gave him the right advice.

Now This Is Trashy...

I don't normally read newspapers unless I happen to be somewhere where one is lying around. So I found a trashy Sun left on the tube last night and as I flipped through the paper, one of the rather silly agony aunt stories caught my eyes.

Sexy Plumber fixed leak - then tinkered with me

Dear Deidre,

A HUNKY young plumber come to fix my washing machine and ended up having a fling with me.
We're having wonderful sex behind my husband's back and I feel so guilty.

I'm 24 and my husband is 26. We have a two-year-old son. We're very happy and I never thought I was the type to cheat.

My washing machine flooded so I got the name of an emergency plumber from Yellow Pages. He's really dishy and we got on so well that by the time the machine was fixed he asked me out for a drink.

I didn't see harm in meeting up again. We had a pub lunch together while my husband was at work. Meetings continued for a few weeks but recently we started doing rather more than lunch or drinks. He's brilliant lover and I've never known sex like it. The more I get the more I want!

I know what I'm doing is wrong but when we're together it all seems so right somehow. I wake up in the night thinking about him. Then I feel guilty and resolve to end it.

As you'd expect, the all-time-sensible Deidre advised Lucky B*tch (who already had endless steaming hot sex with her hunky plumber!) that instead of risking her (not-so-worth-saving) marriage, she should talk to her husband about putting fun back into their love life and making plans for sex sessions together while ending her fling with Mr. Plumber.

And last but not least, Deidre offered her Spice Up Your Sex Life leaflet to Lucky B*tch, which would give her some ideas - with her ever-so-boring husband or sexy hunky plumber?

YET ANOTHER YEAR...

FINALLY, I still can't believe I've made it into my FOURTH year of blogging! Isn't that amazing or what?

Over the past 4 years, I've seen a handful of blogs come and go. At one point, some of us (at times, even I did) thought this one was gonna disappear, but it didn't. Instead you guys kept me going and moving forward, and I just couldn't THANK YOU enough! It's About Time For...

reFRESH is a beautiful over-sized London based glossy coffee table style magazine, which TMOP was privileged to be featured back in May 2009. And now, a year later, I'm approached by them once again, but this time, I manage to pull their editor-in-chief aside and have a heart to heart interview with him.

PR8: First off, thanks for doing this with me David. So can you tell me a bit about your background as the editor-in-chief of reFRESH?
David: Well I was working as editor-in-chief of a large contract publishing company and sat on the management team. My bosses were looking for new business ideas and I'd always had a concept for a gay magazine that was aimed a more 'grown up' gay man – we discussed it, they liked it and the rest is history as they say!

As I am flipping through reFRESH, I'm noticing how BIG your magazine is, not just the size (9.5 x 13.5 inches!) but also the contents, from culture & art to home & lifestyle, and from fashion & style to travel. You must have an excellent team of experts behind you, right?
You are only as good as the writing team behind you! I've been very lucky during my editorial career to be able to work with and develop friendships with some excellent writers, illustrators and photographers. Some of whom have been working with me for over 10 years. My reFRESH team are outstanding and I see them as a family rather than as a group of people who write for me.

With so many gay magazines on the market, how do you see reFRESH standing out from your competitors?
Aside from the 'size' I think we are very lucky at this moment in time that there are so many different magazines out there each catering a different type of reader. I think that success on the newsstand comes from not sitting still and doing what you can to constantly evolve your brand/magazine to weather the many storms that can thrown at it. One of our strongest USPs is that we don't run any adult content – you won't find a classified section at the back or any hardcore chatlines or adult videos. This approach has been hugely helpful to develop more meaningful relationships with advertisers who want to target our audience for the first time.

What is something in your home that would make a stranger think you were gay? And what is something in your home that would make a stranger think you were straight?
Well I guess the first part of the question would be the sea of cushions on my bed (in all shapes and sizes and colours) and some of my art on the walls. The second part of my collection would be my massive collection of books which cover subjects from history, religion, biography, fashion, military etc. I buy and accumulate way too many!

What is your indulgence?
Wine (and nice cheese) - I drink and eat way too much of both!!!

Tell me FIVE things you love about London?
The art galleries (and museums), the parks, the Southbank, Borough Market and the balcony bar at the Royal Festival Hall (only recently discovered this thanks to my flatmate James – but it's one of the most romantic places to sit and look out over the river!)

This being Pride month, anything in particular that you are most proud of?
I think that I'm still editing the magazine I launched in 2002. It's been a challenge (in a good way) all the way through – but I'm pleased to still have it as my 'third arm'.

At last but not least. Madonna. Yay or nay?
Absolutely YAY! I was in my formative years in the 80s when she first exploded onto the music scene! Whoever comes along with always be spot referenced in the context of Madonna - just look at the Lady Gagas etc – they all, whether or not they choose to admit it, can trace their approach and theatricality to Madonna.

Thanks for the interview William, it's been fun and best of luck for The Ministry of Pleasure too!

A Mixture Of Tastes...

Here comes the second installment of A Mixture Of Tastes, hopefully one of the followings will tickle your taste buds!

This Is For YOU...

OMG! Never in my wildest dream that TMOP will attract female readers but it's true and it's confirmed - I have at least ONE die-hard female fan down in Brighton and she saw me at the Pride but too shy to come up and say hi. Awww, don't be afraid sister, I can assure you I'm not as BAD BAD girl as Gaga =P To be honest, I'm really flattered. Thanks for supporting me all this time Ms. K and I'll definitely come down to Brighton again to meet my fans!

Guilty Pleasure...

Guess what? It's Levi Poulter time again! As some of you may recall, I've featured this fine specimen of manhood a couple of times in the past simply because I just can't get enough of his sexiness! Maybe it's a good idea to get in touch with him and ask for an interview.

Photographed by Thomas Synnamon, the ever-sexy model has made a 'hairy' summer appearance in the latest issue of French magazine Sensitif, which is now online for your free enjoyment!

However, this isn't his first time being featured by the magazine. Back in December 2008, Levi was once appeared 'smoothly' under the lens of photographer David Vance.

Thank You Brighton...

So I had finally experienced my first Brighton Pride and as you can tell from the photos, I had quite a bit of fun, partly because of the good weather and good friends.

Having said that, no offense, but I personally think Preston Park is way too big to look for your friends (we kinda separated from each other several times) plus the park itself is a little bit far from the Brighton city centre, so you can't really do the main park events and street party with a short walking distance like London.

But despite all my moaning (I'm getting old =P) I must say the whole Pride had run smoothly well and I enjoyed the cabaret tent the most because I managed to see the fabulous Sandra on stage! Oh, and did I forget to mention all the hot guys =P

A Brighton Virgin...

Better Than Today by Kylie Minogue

This week has been a busy week for me, while I'm still recovering from my trip to the Netherlands, now I'm off to my first ever Brighton Pride! But seriously, what's the point of living if you don't wanna DANCE
=]
