R.I.P...

Singer Amy Winehouse has died, aged 27. She was found dead at her home in Camden, North London. Police say the cause of her death is unexplained.

Am I shocked? Yes, but not really surprised as we all know her private life has been something of a mess for a while. Do I feel sympathy for her? Well, in a way I do feel sorry that a talented individual is lost and those who she left behind. But the act of drink and drugs binge? No, not at all. In fact, I think it's rather irresponsible and selfish of her.

I mean, for goodness sake, we all know the consequence of drug/ alcohol abuse and the dangers of them, and yet people are still doing it. I know this may sound harsh but I fail to sympathise with people who take the quick and easy way out of life.

In contrast, I would like to send my deepest sympathy to everyone who lost their lives in the Norway attacks as they really didn't have a choice whether they lived or died.

MAY THEIR SOULS, AND ALL THE SOULS OF THE DEPARTED, THROUGH THE MERCY OF GOD, REST IN PLEACE. AMEN.
ETERNAL REST GRANT UNTO THEM , O LORD....AND LET PERPETUAL LIGHT SHINE UPON THEM....

GRANT REST ETERNAL, O LORD, IN BLESSED REPOSE, TO THY CHILDREN, WHO HAVE FALLEN ASLEEP, AND MAKE THEIR MEMORY TO BE ETERNAL!

MEMORY, ETERNAL!
MEMORY, ETERNAL!
MEMORY, ETERNAL!

MAY GOD BEAUTIFY THEM, AND GIVE THEM REST WHERE ALL THE JUST REPOSE. IN A PLACE WHERE THERE IS NO MORE SICKNESS, SUFFERING, OR SIGHING, BUT ONLY EVERLASTING LIGHT. AMEN.

These little prayers from both the West and the East have always helped me manage my mourning and grief. I Pray they may do so for you, too.
Peace!

This is a great and well-done, elegant, blog: but I cannot suscribe to the words writen over here about the selfishness and irresponsibility of Amy Winehouse! It sounds too much like a judgement from someone who is totally sure of his self justice and his capacity to never fail in any sense of all. What do we know about Amy's inner battles and struggles to try to get over her painly dependances? What do we know about her sadnesses of failing and her hidden victories of rising up again? She was still a child with an aged soul and a deep living voice. Who are we to still throw her rocks after her death and to wound her moreafter? Let,s just keep silence and wish her Ă©ternal liberation of inner devils and peace +
