Looking Back...

So it's time of the year again, for reflection and resolution, as usual. I still like doing this, especially so many things happened this year and here's what I felt were the top five for this year.

MY HOME SWEET HOME

Seriously, this has to be the biggest (and the most expensive) thing I've ever achieved (and bought) in 2011 (and for my entire life). I'm finally a house owner after 32 years and it feels GREAT to walk around the flat naked and have the entire fridge all by myself!

I'M A GRAPHIC DESIGNER

Yes, I can finally call myself one after a year of graphic design course at the Shillington College, London. I'm still a pharmacist and I've got a few small freelance projects from here and there. Hopefully, 2012 will bring me more works!

GAGAOOLALA

From coming out from a gigantic 'egg' at the Grammys to fighting against the DADT policy for the U.S. military, the Mother Monster has given me joy and courage in 2011. Forget about Judas, may Yoü & I Marry The Night until we both reach the Edge Of Glory because we were Born This Way baby!

DEAR DEAR MR. T

Well, what more can I say about Mr. T? He's been my ups and downs of 2011. Although we didn't manage to be together (as a couple) happy forever after, we manage to be together (as friends) happy forever after, which isn't a total disaster...

AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST...

Altough it's been a busy year and I didn't update my blog as much as I wished, I still managed to carry on blogging in my fifth year and received more than 3 million hits! So thank you guys and I'll try to do better in 2012!

John Lewis Vs Habitat...

Arghh... I'm in furniture dilenma again and I need all your professional help! So, I'm deciding on which office chair I should get to match my white MUJI desk. Should I go for John Lewis' Victor Chair (£159) or Habitat's Hamilton Office Chair (£128)? Both chairs are very comfy to sit on and both look great... HELP!

Today is Christmas day and I don't have much plan during the day except picking Mr. T up at the airport (+ Christmas dinner) tonight as there won't be any public transport running.

First of all, I've officially lived in my new flat for a week (photos to follow) and it's been good although there are still boxes everywhere - even the 'table' that I'm using right now is actually made out of a box. I just can't wait till the big boxing day sales in a week's time!

I mean, they even had a Santa stripper on stage, which was totally out of my expectation! And Ameet, you sang BRILLIANT! Thank you SO much for the invitation =]

New Beginning...

So tonight is gonna be the last night I spent in my current house. While I look forward to a new chapter of my life, I nevertheless feel a certain sadness at the thought of leaving the wonderful people who I lived with for the past two years. Thank you for all your help and support. This is not the end. I just moved down the road so we'll be neighbours, not housemate =]

After missing the screening at London Lesbian & Gay Film Festival and Hong Kong Lesbian & Gay Film Festival, I finally managed to watch Weekend in the cinema tonight and I liked it.

Not Good Enough...

So I only managed to make nine posts in November, and that's just not good enough despite the fact that I was back in Hong Kong for two weeks. Trust me, I do feel bad not updating TMOP as often as I ought to be, however, my new pad has taken over my life and it's more important than anything else, even men and sex!

FIGHT AIDS...

We are fast approaching December 1, 2011 when we commemorate yet another year of World AIDS Day. It's now 30 years, June 5, 1981, since the first AIDS case was published by the Centre for Disease Control. It became known as Gay-related immune deficiency (GRID). Today, this disease knows no boundaries and can affect and/or infect anyone. At the end of 2010, it's estimated that 34 million people globally living with HIV, there were 2.7 million new HIV infections, and 1.8 million people died of AIDS-related illnesses.

UN AIDS report that "the overall growth of the global aids epidemic appears to have stabilized. The annual number of new HIV infections has been steadily declining since the late 1990s and there are fewer aids-related deaths due to the significant scale up of antiretroviral therapy over the past few years. Although the number of new infections has been falling, levels of new infections overall are still high, and with significant reductions in mortality the number of people living with HIV worldwide has increased.

As is customary globally, TODAY will be dedicated to remember those we've lost and to be thankful for the survival of those we love who live with the disease that has no cure. Happy WAD 2011 and show your support by wearing a red ribbon today!
