5, 4, 3, 2, 1...

It's the last day of 2012 and it's the time to reflect and be thankful for all that I gained, lost, and have without any regret. Could I do better? Maybe. Will I do better? Probably not.

He told me he wasn't in love with me and that we would only be good as friends (with benefits). Most guys would be fine with that. Good sex without all the emotional baggage. But, I actually liked him. Honestly, I loved him. So, we were gonna try and kept being in each others lives as just friends who f*ck. For as long as that lasted - a year and two months. It killed me because he's one of the first guys that I truly loved in years. No, we weren't perfect and we didn't always see eye to eye, but there's good stuff and chemistry there. And it saddened me that we couldn't even see what our full potential could have been.

Isn't it great to live in London? This year I was lucky enough to see both Madonna's MDNA Tour and Gaga's BTW Ball Tour! God saves the Queens! And speaking of the Queen, nothing beats Queen Elizabeth II, the real Queen, who celebrated her Diamond Jubilee this year!

Attending the Olympic Games has always been one of my lifetime dreams and now I can proudly say, "I've been to the Olympics!" And rightly so, a huge pat on the back is certainly deserved. London was a great host city for the Games. And it has shown the world some of the greatest things about Great Britain!

Didn't time fly by quickly? It's been over a year since I moved into my two-bed bachelor pad and I'm still enjoying it! The best thing is the fact that I have my freedom (accommodating friends and family or walking around the flat naked) and space (especially fridge space) without any consideration. Having said that, sometimes, I feel living alone can be a bit lonely, but with friends around, I've made it just fine =]

Yes, I say this every year but I still want you to know that without your supports I really don't think I would be in this position as I'm now - Seven years running, 564 followers, 1565 posts and over 3.3 millions hits! Thank you SO much guys!

Guilty Pleasure...

Whether you agree or not, 2012 has been a BIG year for TMOP and its Guilty Pleasures. Sadly, there won't be a big New Year celebration for me tonight because I'm on-call for my hospital. Having said that, I shall leave you all a BIG one to remember =]

What You Do To Me...

You Give Me Pretty Little Kisses On My Face
Your Arms And Legs When We Cuddle Are In The Right Place
Everytime I Look At You, You Smile Like You Know What You Do To Me

It Doesn't Hurt That You Have The Most Perfect Teeth
When You Hold My Hand You Might As Well Sweep Me Off My Feet
Cause Everytime I'm Around You I Can Barely Breathe

Oh You See What You Do To Me

Dear Peter...

Didn't time fly by quickly? After four months of no contact, today I posted a Christmas card to Peter Pan. To me, I just wanna wish him a Merry Christmas since Christmas is the time of giving. But am I doing the right thing? Does it make me a 'weak' person to contact him first? Anyway, the card was signed, sealed and delivered...

Yet Another Profile...

"Hey guys, open minded Aussie guy new to London looking for friends and f*cks. Not as innocent as I look..."

Hmm, direct and straight to the point. I like it!

Jet Lag...

Just flew back to London from Hong Kong this morning. What a lovely two-week holiday I had - Caught up with my family and friends. Took my pharmacy exams. Ate and shopped a lot and Grindr-ed four guys. But now, I'm a little jet lag and will start work tomorrow... Arghhh!

Today is the last repetitive date I'll ever see in my lifetime. Unless I miraculously live until 121 years old, then I'll see January 1, 2101.

A friend once said to me that everything happens for a reason and there's always a reason why someone doesn't make it to your future. Just remember that you only live life once, so don't f*ck it up just because you made a mistakes. Let go, forgive and move on...

Grinding In HK...

That's right! I was the new face/meat guy on Grindr in Hong Kong and I had never thought I'd be so popularised by my fellow Chinese brothers =P

Anyway that's not the reason I'm visiting Hong Kong. The real reason is to sit the Hong Kong Pharmacist Registration exams, which I had sat yesterday so hopefully I'll pass both of them.

WAD 2012...

Support World AIDS Day by wearing a red ribbon, volunteering your time to a local AIDS organization, donating to a charity for AIDS or raising awareness among your peers. Let's all work hand in hand and fight for good cause against HIV/AIDS!

By the time you read this post, I'll be sitting comfortably (with my mp3 player on listening to Gaga) on the Virgin Atlantic flight to Hong Kong. See you all in two weeks time =]

Shout Out...

Bleached blonde hair, pumped-up muscle, flamboyant high fashion and a pair black killer stilettos are four things I would use to summerise the video of Shout Out To The Lonely by American singer-songwriter Joel Evan Tye, better known as Sir JET.

The song is catchy and dancy, and I love the idea of him transforming himself into a fabulous desert queen from a rugged masculine cowboy working in a barn. This is what you call - Express Yourself!

In the meantime, Sir JET has also begun a charity fundraiser to finance his upcoming music video, Like God, featuring a same-sex wedding and a song about identity and love. For more info on the project, visit the website here.

The Elixir Of...

Just got home from seeing L'elisir d'amore (The Elixir of Love) at the Royal Opera House and what a bravo production!

Set in an Italian village about 1800, L'elisir d'amore is about a naive peasant named Nemorino whose love for the wealthy and fabulous Adina allows him to believe that a magic 'elixir' sold by the quack doctor Dulcamara will charm her into his arms despite her rejection.

To me, it's so obvious that both Adina and Nemorino love each other, but instead of saying 'I love you' to each other's faces, they take turn to play hard-to-get, and suprise suprise, they miracally end up with a happy ending. Awww, isn't that sweet?

So does playing hard-to-get make you more attractive and get the person you love for? Well, personally, I hate mind games, and I think that I hate them because there's too much calculation involved behind and I always get in an infinite loop of thinking which is very annoying. So my answer would be NO!

Toreadore Toreadore...

So I went to see Bizet's Carmen at the ENO last night and what a great show it was. With some of the most beautiful and instantly recognisable music in all opera and one tastefully occluded scene of male nude, I have to say my £12.50 ticket was money well spent!

Oh, and I'm getting ready for L'elisir d'amore at the ROH tonight =]

What You Prefer...

Food For Thought...

Psychotherapist Matthew J Dempsey talks about the need for validation and how it plays out specifically in the lives of gay men.

The reason I'm sharing this is because 1) it's so relevant to The Velvet Rage, a great book I'm reading now, and 2) sometimes I feel like I'm living my life to please others rather than being 100% myself and living my life for me, i.e. I'm still craving for authentic validation either I'm still feeling ashame to be gay or I have a low self-esteem.

Do you guys have the same feeling as me?

I had a thoroughly enjoyable evening out when I went to see Taboo the musical at Brixton Club House. In a nutshell, Taboo tells the whirlwind story of Boy George, Marilyn, Leigh Bowery, as well as the main character Billy, the wannabe photographer, goes on his voyage of self-discovery in London during the 1980s.

Personally, I dunno much about Boy George's history other than he sang for Culture Club since I spent most of my 80s and early 90s living in Hong Kong, but the musical gave me a glimpse into his rise to fame. Overall, I had a great time, the cast were amazing and some really beautiful voices. So if you get a chance go and treat yourself with some Taboo, which is now extended through March 31st 2013!

Guilty Pleasure...

God, this guy is SO adorable and I can't help but smile at his photos =]

Three Parts...

There are three possible parts to a date, of which at least two must be offered: entertainment, food/drink and affection. It's customary to begin a series of dates with a great deal of entertainment, a moderate amount of food/drink, and the merest suggestion of affection. As the amount of affection increases, the entertainment can be reduced proportionately. When the affection IS the entertainment, we no longer call it dating. Under no circumstances can the food be omitted =]

Oh yeah, and did I not mention, SEX?

Intimate With...

Wow! Just got home from seeing Matt Alber (remember him from the video End Of The World) at The Horse and he's absolutely amazing! Not only he's a talented musican (both guitar and piano) with an incredible voice but he also has a good witty sense of humour, which makes the whole gig very intimate and enjoyable!

The thing I like a lot about Matt is that there's always a story or he so-called 'moment' behind each song he sings and in many cases finds a way to make the song touch us in the audience in a personal way.

Honestly, I highly recommend seeing him live if you get the chance! Thank you so much Matt and please come back to London again =]
