Red Hot 4 Red Head...

Last Friday afternoon I went to see RED HOT, fashion photographer Thomas Knights' eagerly awaited exhibition celebrating the beauty of redheaded men, at The Gallery in Redchurch Street.

Honestly, I've NEVER understood Western stigmas against red hair, but I really LOVE the idea behind the exhibition - replete with portraits of gloriously handsome gingers to 're-brand' male redheads by showing a range of blazing ginger masculinity (or should I say homo-eroticity) and intense pride in the genetics that produce it.

I was a redhead in San Antonio, Texas most of the time I was growing up, and down there, Latinos considered lucky to touch the hair of a redheaded child. So when I'd go downtown with my grandmother, little old ladies would rub my head so much and I hated it. Once I hit puberty, they stopped. I'm still sort-of red-haired (it's now a light strawberry blond) and I'm long past the stigma of being red-headed.

I will say this -- redheads are usually considered hot-tempered. Dunno why, DAMMIT! ;)

Yeah, red hair is pretty! But up close there's the matter of…
the smell‼ UGH

LOL de la LOL I'm a redhead too but that's the kind of BS with the ‘Oh, with the rain on your head, the red of your cap dyed off on your hair?! LMFAO’… my very own brother served me all my childhood (and actually still does, thank you SOOO MUCH Stéphane ;°P) He also has a few freckles specials for family get-togethers B°|

I forgot, my brother has a sweeeet nickname for me: Groux which is the contraction of ‘gros’ (fat) & ‘roux’ (redhead) b^^d
